It’s on another level, literally.
Sunday brunch before Wes + Gia was filled with bottomless mimosas, gossiping girlfriends & way too much chicken & waffles.
These days... my brunches are filled with bottomless bottom changes and crying children. This is why I haven’t brunched with babies since Wes was 8 days old.
Bar Deco built my brunching with babies confidence up and changed my outlook on Gin for brunch. No mimosas were required to enjoy this brunch experience - a District Mommy first! Bar Deco is a four floor restaurant and each floor has its own theme going on. If the thought of climbing stairs with kids or a stroller scares the hell out of you, no need to worry. Bar Deco has elevators!
The first floor is a walk up taco bar! Yum!
Floor two features an industrial style dining area,
Floor three gave me sports bar vibes & floor four is the roof top deck that is perfect to grabs some drinks with friends and enjoy some cool city views
The first thing I noticed when our menus arrived was there was a dedicated kids menu! They also had high chairs and a few large tables that could accommodate my unit.
We ordered the kids' food first. This is my #1 tip when dining with small kids. This way they have their food to keep them busy while I'm taking a million years to look over the menu - just to order the chicken & waffles as per usual.
We started Wes + Gia off with the Chicken Tenders and Fries. Gia was only supposed to have a fruit pouch but ended up trying a fry and grabbing the tray.
The drink menu held just as much weight to me as the food menu. Bar Deco has a large variety of cocktails to choose from. The one that caught my eye was The House Gin & Tonic. The house made Grapefruit-Lemongrass Tonic gives this drink a very sweet and fresh taste, and the rose Glendalough Wild Botanic Gin give the drink it's berry-Bree pink color (lol). I need to stop laughing at my own jokes. Shout out to the bartender Cindy for recommending this one.
Ethan opted for the Hot Brown Benedict. The perfectly poached & seasoned eggs & the Gouda Parmesan fondue were the stars of this dish. Wes loved it too.
I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle had the crisp texture I like and the
The jalapeno jam gave it the heat that I was craving.
As my hunt to find the best wings in DC continues, I decided to try the wings. I went with the mango habanero wings. They were crispy and saucy just how I like 'em! Also can we just take the time to acknowledge how all the napkins & papers products have the Bar Deco logo?! Super cute. It's the little things that count, right? Which brings me to the excellent service here! From the manager Chelsea to the food runners and hostess, everyone was super friendly.
Bar Deco got the district mommy approval as soon as I heard the magic word elevator, Between that, the kids menu and the Gin & Tonic, Bar Deco is 100% District Mommy approved.
