and yes, I'm talking about Coronavirus. #staythehellinside
So I think it's safe to say that the District has definitely changed since I last posted City Mamas. If you're wondering where the hell I've been for the last few months, here's the scoop. I realized that I was ready to stop being a stay at home mom & re-entered corporate america just in time for the world to shut down. Like many Americans I hauled my ass to the store to get everything my family might need to bunker down for a few weeks.
I must confess, I followed my gut and found myself in the the wine aisle because it's about grabbing things with a long shelf life right? Urg..Ok...Yes, I did get more toilet tissue than normal because - if I can be serious for a moment -
I was scared.
Seeing the shelves so bare, seeing the amount of food, cleaning supplies and paper products in everyone's carts had me thinking "Am I under preparing?" My grocery bill and the amount of canned goods I have has me thinking "am I overacting?"
I hate surprises...
My husband just flat out asks me what I want when Christmas time comes.
This pandemic came as a complete surprise to me. It made it clear that life can completely change over night. With all of us practicing social distancing at this time (shout out to my introverts), I think we should try to see the silver lining in this situation. We can slow down and take time to be with our family and to care for ourselves!
Make dinner together! Play games with each other! Make your husband do that thing in the house he's been avoiding since the world was due to end back in 2012.
I will be posting more recipes, indoor activities and random blurbs during this time. I would love to stay connected!
Stay safe & happy mamas!
